Isabelle Marchewka, born in Cologne in 1987, started to learn the guitar at the age of nine and soon began collecting awards for her playing. 13 years old, she discovered the harp, an event which should change her life. Only after two years of playing this instrument she was invited to join the Young Harp Ensemble of Cologne with whom she toured Europe and which gained her further awards. From 2007 to 2012 she studied at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf accompanied by masterclasses. In 2009 she won an EON scholarship and a membership of Live-Music-Now Rhein-Ruhr. After her 1.0 Master degree at Mannheim Conservatory in 2014 she won the VDH Competition (the most important German Harp competition) and was appointed first solo harp of the Cologne Symphony Orchestra and Cologne Chamber Opera. She plays the harp in orchestras conducted by Tobias van de Locht. She made intense concert tours which led her to England, France, Holland, Italy and Switzerland.
